Privacy Policy for Locey

1. Introduction

Ahmet Erdoğan Akkulak ("Developer", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Locey Google Sheets™ Add-on (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use the Service.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

Locey is designed with strict privacy principles. We do not own any servers, databases, or backend infrastructure to store your data.

• Spreadsheet Data: We do not read, store, collect, or transmit your Google Sheets data to any of our own servers. Your data is processed directly within your Google account and sent only to the third-party AI provider you explicitly choose.
• API Keys: Your personal API keys are never sent to the Developer. They are stored securely and locally within your own Google account.
• Analytics: We do not use any tracking pixels, cookies, or analytics software.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Locey does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or Google user data. The only time your data is shared with a third party is when you explicitly use the add-on to translate text. In this case, only the specific spreadsheet cells you select are transmitted to the third-party AI provider (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, or DeepL) that you have chosen and configured using your own personal API key. We do not share your data with any other external parties.

4. Data Protection Mechanisms for Sensitive Data

Locey does not have its own backend servers or databases. It operates entirely as a client-side Google Apps Script. Your personal API keys are securely stored within your own Google account infrastructure using Google Apps Script's native PropertiesService, which securely encrypts the data. All data transmitted between Google Sheets and the third-party AI providers is encrypted in transit using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS protocols.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Because Locey has no external servers, we do not retain or store any of your Google user data. The translated text is written directly back into your Google Sheet and remains under your full control. The API keys you provide are stored in your Google Workspace properties. You can delete these keys and all associated add-on data at any time by simply clearing the API key from the Locey settings menu or by uninstalling the add-on from your Google account. Once uninstalled, no data remains.

6. Third-Party Services

To function, Locey transmits the text you select for translation to the third-party AI engine you configure. This data transmission is governed by the respective Privacy Policies of those third-party providers.
